Lent Day 32… Our Struggle To Celebrate

Respect, I think, always implies imagination—the ability to see one another, across our inevitable differences, as living souls. —Wendell Berry

Canadian poet Rupi Kaur wrote…

what terrifies me most is how we
foam at the mouth with envy
when others succeed
but sigh in relief
when they are failing

our struggle to
celebrate each other is
what’s proven most difficult
in being human

Our struggle to celebrate each other is what’s proven most difficult in being human.

As Spirit-filled believers, I think we ought to be able to tap into something deeper—a prophetic imagination—that is able to find something to celebrate in anyone.

I dare you. Try it.

Let’s overcome the struggle to celebrate.

I am a husband, father, pastor, leader & reader. I love God, love people & love life.
