Hhmmmm…depends on the day. Some days I feel like reading a bit of Mark Dever (reformed-bro-dude) and then some days I feel like reading a bit of Marcus Borg (Fellow of the Jesus Seminar, Prof at Oregon State U, Denies physical resurrection and believes Jesus was a mystic sage). I don’t necessarily agree with everything I read :)

I like to think I am more reformed in my theology but do think there are grey zones in life, ministry and theology. I am definitely more inclined to the (Southern) Baptist ideology but cannot shake my Pentecostal/Charismatic reading of scripture. So I call myself a Bapticostal.

I do like women in ministry as well so I wouldn’t be a good Baptist and I’m sure some famous Reformers wouldn’t approve.

All that to say, if you’ve got a book that is more for a Pentecostal Baptist Reformer who likes women in ministry, thinks there are grey zones in life and is half Calvinist and half Arminian then I’ll definitely take that! :D

    • Thank you for being an encourager Patricia! Whenever I see your name on my Facebook feed, I just smile. You’ve been such a cheerleader to the world around you. I’m thankful for your influence as I watched your family grow up in the church and your girls sing so pretty. :) Hope they’re all doing well. Hugs!

  3. Please! The book would be great. Thanks PB.

Been enjoying your posts about honesty. Tried to post one day and it never went through. Don’t know why but I figured maybe it was for a reason. In the past my honesty hasn’t had a balance of love and has often been mistaken as harsh, unkind, and offensive. Through CR I have learned that my “honest” response is not always necessary (there is NO cross talk at all – only listening). I’ve found less opportunities of apologizing and more to encourage! Because of the fact that you can’t talk about anything shared in group… My natural response now (since I can’t “fix”) to a person who has cried and laid out their junk is to celebrate them with encouragement!!!

Don’t get me wrong I love brutality honest people – my husband is just that! But I’m learning that its okay to not say anything too.
