I can only draw from my own background and experience, but then expose myself to others of different backgrounds, life experiences and cultures to broaden my perspective and compassion. This flick is a vivid reminder of what our neighbors of color have and do go through. Blatant prejudice always shocks me, as it should. May I not be blind to the places it is present in me.
